Mountain Biking
The mountain biking in this area of the French Alps is outstanding. There is riding to suit all tastes and styles.
For the technical XC rider, literally out of the garden at Le Chateau there are some excellent circuits with fast sweeping singletrack, challenging climbs and awe-inspiring technical descents.
All mountain and alpine XC riders will enjoy the epic adventures that can be had with a bit of van assisted uplift giving access to all day rides with a few hundred meters of uphill work being paid off with over a thousand meters of descent. All the while being in the most amazing alpine situations with breath-taking views.
There are a few ski resorts within a short drive. Les Orres has some wicked DH trails and a rude north shore area.
